Will Ospreay is a major star in AEW, recognized for his exceptional in-ring abilities and thats why he is the current International Champion. As good as he is in the ring, he has many detractors who have accused him of never selling moves in the ring. In light of these accusations, The Aerial Assassin has now addressed the same.
While speaking on the Masked Man Show, Will Ospreay addressed accusations that he never sells moves during his matches. He explained that selling is a complex issue and shared his perspective on the matter.
Ospreay pointed out that his training alongside top wrestlers like Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii taught him to be resilient. In those intense training sessions, if one didnt quickly get back up and fight, one would risk losing. He believes that those who criticize his selling often lack understanding of his journey and the high-stakes situations hes faced.
The Aerial Assassin addressed the critics directly, stating they may not grasp the pressure hes under during matches, where he has to keep pushing forward to succeed. Ospreay also noted that when he performs, the audience is often engaged and on their feet, suggesting that his style resonates with fans. He concluded by comparing the critics to someone trying to tell an artist like Picasso how to paint, giving emphasis to the uniqueness of his approach.
As for Will Ospreays current plans, he is set to defend his AEW International Championship against Ricochet and Konosuke Takeshita in a triple threat match at AEW WrestleDream on October 12th. Therefore, well have to see if Ospreay will end up performing more moves that will further enrage his detractors, as that seems to be his goal at the moment.
