Goldbergs recent status as a free agent following the expiration of his WWE contract led to much speculation about a possible retirement match. However, his unexpected return at Bad Blood last week surprised fans and analysts alike. In fact, there are calls for WWE to have Goldberg train in NXT before he faces GUNTHER.

At theBad Blood Premium Live Event, tensions flared whenWWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER confronted Goldberg. While Goldberg was enjoying the show with his family in the crowd, GUNTHER insulted him, labeling him a one-trick pony in an attempt to provoke a reaction. As Goldberg tried to respond to the taunt, security stepped in to prevent him from entering the ring.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that there are currently no plans for a match between GUNTHER and Goldberg at Crown Jewel. Instead, GUNTHER is scheduled to face Cody Rhodes at that event. On top of that, there are no plans for a Goldberg vs. GUNTHER match at Survivor Series or WrestleMania at this time, although discussions for WrestleMania usually begin around October.

While speaking on Sportkseeda WrestleBinge, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long talked about Goldberg competing again. Long mentioned that in order to prevent a disaster such as Goldberg vs. Undertaker again, he urged WWE to send Goldberg to NXT and train there for a few weeks, before his potential match with GUNTHER.

Fans will have to be patient to see if the WWE Hall of Famer will make his in-ring return soon, particularly since Goldberg hasnt competed in a WWE match since facing Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022. It remains to be seen if he will head to NXT in the future and hone his skills there before an eventual match with The Ring General.
