Kenny Omega has been sidelined for almost a year after undergoing emergency surgery for diverticulitis. This health issue made him step away from wrestling and delay his plans. However, it now appears that the timeframe for his return to the ring has been disclosed.

Kenny Omega made his first television appearance since December on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he provided updates on his recovery. Unfortunately, his return was cut short when he was attacked by The Elite, which included The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, forcing him to leave the show quickly.

Following this event, Omegas close friend and longtime tag team partner, Kota Ibushi, revealed that Omega has begun training at his facility in Japan. Omega has also been participating in intense boxing training to aid in his recovery.

While speaking on Yuji Nagatas YouTube channel, Kota Ibushi and Nagata talked about Ibushis recent Instagram pictures of them together, and they discussed Kennys health. Ibushi said that Kenny told him he thinks he can return in about 2 to 3 months. Nagata noted that it must be hard for Kenny, mentioning how tough the situation sounds. Ibushi explained that Kenny is still having a lot of trouble, sometimes spending an hour in the bathroom trying to figure out which foods he can eat and which ones to avoid.

When asked if the Golden Lovers might reunite, Ibushi confidently said yes. He believes that once he comes back, Kenny will too. He mentioned that while they have a rivalry, they are also good friends who encourage each other. Ibushi thinks Kenny is probably thinking that he needs to return if Ibushi does. Nagata praised Kenny for being strong and a good partner, and Ibushi agreed with him.

Kenny Omega is also eyeing a big tag team match at NJPW Wrestle Dynasty in January 2025 as he wants to team up with Hiroshi Tanahashi against The Young Bucks. Therefore, well have to see if Omega will be cleared by then, as fans would more than love to see him step foot inside the squared circle again.
