During The Attitude Era, WWE often filmed segments outside the arena to keep fans entertained, featuring memorable moments like the supermarket brawl between Steve Austin and Booker T and a Hardcore Championship brawl at Funtime USA. However, not every segment was well-received, especially one that took place in a graveyard.
While The Undertakers cemetery segments were generally accepted because they were filmed at night, a controversial moment happened when The Big Boss Man crashed the funeral of The Big Shows father, who had died in the storyline. The Big Boss Man arrived in a car, using a loudspeaker to mock the situation and then attached the casket to his car, driving away with The Big Show on top.
To make matters worse, there was a real funeral happening at the cemetery, and families were there grieving. Its no surprise that this segment upset many people who managed the graveyard.
Gerald Brisco talked about this incident on Sportskeedas What Were They Thinking podcast, explaining that after the Big Boss Man segment, WWE was banned from filming at that cemetery again. He mentioned that they had used the location for graveyard matches with The Undertaker before, but after this incident, they were never allowed to return.
Big Boss Man also never became the WWE Champion due to the fact that there was simply too many big names during his run in the company. Regardless, the segment will always remain one of the most infamous segments in WWE history and thats never going to change.
