AEW has improved leaps and bounds in numerous areas since its debut back in 2019 and this was most apparent after the company secured a new multi-year media rights dealwith Warner Bros. Discovery. In light of their big deal, we now have a clarification on the status of AEWs entire archive once the shows move to MAX.
The new deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery will generate $180 million in 2025, $185 million in 2026, and $190 million in 2027. Warner Bros. Discovery also has the option to extend the contract through 2028 for an even higher amount. Starting in January 2025, AEW will stream live on Max for U.S. subscribers, which is a major step in growing the companys audience and impact.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the AEW pay-per-view library will be available on MAX. However, it wont all be added right away. The AEW archives, including episodes of Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision, will start appearing on MAX starting January 1st. The content will be rolled out gradually, including the pay-per-views.
With Warner Bros. Discoverys investment, AEWs future looks promising as the company aims to become more profitable and expand its reach. However, well have to wait and see if AEW will continue to grow in 2025, especially as all of its content moves to the MAX streaming platform. The company clearly has big plans for the future.
