Rory recalled a golfer he played with in his junior days, whose career didnt unfold nearly as successfully as many expected. This golfer is Philip Francis, whom some golf fans might remember.
The 35-year-old found it difficult to compete against him in their junior days, feeling that Francis was an unbeatable golfer. What is disappointing, however, is the direction in which this golfer's career went, despite having great potential and a solid foundation for success.

Much didnt go well for the 34-year-old American, who faced injuries, and his form was far from great. Francis decided to say goodbye to golf in 2015 and dedicate himself to other pursuits. In interviews, he often emphasized that he lost his passion for the game, overthinking many technical aspects and losing the desire to play.
It was that phase of his career when he realized that the sport he loved as a boy had become a business, filled with pressure and a race for money.

Francis understood that the life of a professional was quite different from what he had expected.
Fortunately, he had a coach who motivated him and gave him the freedom to choose. His coach guided him, telling him that life is much more than chasing a white ball and hitting it. This perspective was one reason the former junior champion chose a different path and stepped away from golf. A well-known name from junior days, he is now working in finance and doesnt hide his desire to one day return to the golf course, at least in amateur golf.

However, time proved otherwise, revealing that Spieth is indeed a golfer of great quality.

He shared that after playing the first two days with Spieth, who ended up missing the cut, he was left wondering what all the hype was about, finding him quite average. However, just two years later, Spieth nearly accomplished the Grand Slam.
