Kevin Owens has been a mainstay on WWE television since his debut in NXT in 2014, accumulating several titles during his time with the company. There was a lot of speculation regarding his contractual status with WWE and it appears he is very close to signing a new deal.
Back in December 2021, after a lot of speculation about whether Kevin Owens would stay with WWE or not, it was revealed that Owens signed another contract with WWE,which was said to be multi-year deal.
Earlier this year, Kevin Owens confirmed that there had been no changes to his contract status; it is simply nearing its end. Kevin Owens had not signed a contract extension with WWE andhis future with WWE remained uncertain. In fact, many believed there was a chance he would go to AEW.
According to WrestleVotes on aBackstage Pass Q&A, Kevin Owens is very close to re-signing with WWE. WrestleVotes mentioned that while they didnt receive a clear confirmation on whether the deal has been officially signed, the feedback they received was very positive. It was suggested that if the contract isnt already finalized, its likely close to being completed with a handshake agreement, indicating Owens may be staying with WWE for the long term.
This is certainly great news for fans of Kevin Owens who feel he should remain with WWE for his entire career. Considering he is currently involved in a big angle with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, Owens re-signing with the company is simply the right decision.
