Novak and Jannik fought in the Shanghai Masters final four days ago, with the Italian scoring a 7-6, 6-3 victory en route to his fourth Masters 1000 trophy. Sinner debuted at Six Kings Slam on Wednesday, toppling world no. 5 Daniil Medvedev 6-0, 6-3 after another flawless performance.
The year-end no. 1 player will seek another notable victory against Novak, taking charge of their matches after winning four of the previous five. Djokovic claimed a win in their opening three encounters before Sinner defeated him for the first time at last year's ATP Finals.

Two rivals met again soon in the Davis Cup Finals semi-final, and Jannik performed an incredible turnaround, fending off three match points in a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 victory. The Tirol native led his country toward the first Davis Cup crown since 1976 and gathered a boost ahead of 2024.
Sinner is 2-0 against the 24-time Major winner this season, ousting him in the Australian Open semi-final and the Shanghai Masters final last Sunday. The Italian controlled the pace and tamed his strokes beautifully, missing a match point in the third set before overpowering the ten-time winner in the fourth en route to his first Major final.
They had not met for months, which changed in Shanghai last week. Sinner and Djokovic fought for the title, and the better-ranked player scored a 7-6, 6-3 victory, delivering the Serb's first loss in the Shanghai Masters finals.
Jannik did not face a break point for the second straight match against the most excellent returner in history, keeping the pressure on the other side. The veteran fought well in the opener, reaching a tie break but spraying a couple of costly errors.
