Scott DAmores sudden exit from his role as TNA Presidentcaused a major change in the wrestling world. During his time in charge, AEW and TNA formed a partnership and now DAmore has revealed why TNA and AEWs partnership ended.

The partnership between AEW and TNA allowed AEW stars like Kenny Omega to appear on TNA shows, while some TNA wrestlers were featured on AEW. During this time, Omega was in his belt collector storyline, where he won both the TNA and IMPACT World Championships. He later lost the titles to Christian Cage on the first episode of AEW Rampage.

While speaking to Fightful Selects Sean Ross Sapp, Scott DAmore said that Omegas time as champion helped TNA a lot, especially when they were struggling to gain attention. Omegas involvement boosted pay-per-view sales, increased TV viewership, improved social media interactions, and helped the business overall. The two pay-per-view events featuring Omega were the most successful in TNAs history.

Despite the success, Omega was dealing with physical pain during this time, which made things harder for him. He also wanted to wrestle IMPACT stars like Eddie Edwards and Josh Alexander, but certain limitations prevented these matches from happening. This ultimately led to the end of the partnership between AEW and TNA.

Even Tony Khan was called out for putting downTNA during AEWs partnership with the promotion. Nevertheless, TNA Wrestling is currently invested in their partnership with WWE and there is no guarantee TNA will ever work with AEW again and perhaps thats for the best.
