Eva Lys found a new creative way to tackle social media abuse as the German tennis player took a screenshot of one disgusting message and tagged the wife of the person so she could see it as well.
This week, the world No. 118 competed at a WTA 250 tournament in Osaka, where she lost in the qualifying but still made the main draw as a lucky loser.
After winning her opening two matches to reach the quarterfinal, the 22-year-old fell just short in her quarterfinal match after Aoi Ito came back from a set down to win 6-7 (8) 6-2 6-3.
As if dealing with a heartbreaking loss wasn't already hard, Lys also had to deal with numerous insults that came from angry bettors.
"That was some coward s--- you pulled off tonight," one of the abusive messages that the former world No. 105 received read.
"Why is your man insulting a 22-year-old on Instagram?" the German wrote on her Instagram Story and also tagged the person's wife.

After brutally bashing angry bettors, the German tennis player took a moment to acknowledge those who sent her messages of support.
"After a little reminder to be LOUD about negative things- I also have to say that I can see every single one of you that gives me love, support and positivity. Appreciate ALL of you. You guys are one of the reasons why im having so much fun in life," Lys wrote in another Instagram Story.
Meanwhile, the world No. 118 was bidding to make her third semifinal of the year. Previously, she was a semifinalist in Monastir last week and she also reached the Budapest semifinal in July.
Lys may be disappointed over failing to make back-to-back WTA semifinals but it was still a positive week for her in Osaka.
