TheSurvivor SeriesPremium Live Event is set to take place at the Rogers Arena inVancouver on November 30, and theres a lot of excitement surrounding it for good reason. With that said, the future of the traditional Survivor Series tag team elimination match has been revealed.

Until recently, Survivor Series was primarily known for its elimination tag team matches. From 2016 to 2021, while these matches still took place, the events focus shifted to a rivalry between RAW and SmackDown for brand supremacy. However, in 2022, WWE rebranded the event as Survivor Series: WarGames, replacing the traditional elimination tag matches with WarGames matches.

In a recent Q&A, PWInsiders Mike Johnson expressed hope that the traditional elimination tag matches could return under Triple Hs leadership. However, with the main focus of this years event being the WarGames match, Johnson believes the old format may be phased out for good.

Johnson mentioned his nostalgia for the classic 5 vs. 5 elimination matches, but acknowledged that the appeal of these matches has diminished over the years. He feels that if anyone could revive the format, it would be Triple H and his team, but the WarGames matches are what will continue to drive interest in the show moving forward.
