AEW has a reputation for surprising fans with the arrival of former WWE Superstars, and WrestleDream 2024 upheld that tradition. During the Zero-Hour kickoff show, Rico made his debut, and he has now shared details about how his appearance came together.

The former WWE star was announced as the third member of MxM Collection during their match against The Acclaimed, who had Daddy Ass Billy Gunn in their corner. During the match, Gunn hit Rico with a Fameasser, leading to The Acclaimed ultimately securing the victory over MxM.

While speaking on his Stylin podcast, Rico shared how his surprise appearance at AEW WrestleDream came about. He mentioned that AEW executives reached out to him, saying that the tag team MxM Collection needed his guidance for their match against The Acclaimed, who had Billy Gunn as their manager.

Rico boarded a private plane to Seattle to work with Mason and Mansoor in preparation for the match. During the bout, chaos ensued, and while he was trying to help Mansoor gain momentum, he slipped and found himself in the ring with Billy Gunn.

Rico noted that they werent supposed to wrestle, but Gunn started talking to him. Feeling disrespected, Rico attempted to spin kick Gunn, who quickly countered, kicked him in the gut, and hit him with a Fameasser. Rico humorously referred to Gunn as Saggy-ass Billy Gunn during the recounting.

It is not known whether Rico will make another appearance on AEW television somewhere down the line but fans were undoubtedly happy to see him at WrestleDream, so well have to see if he will return to AEW in the future.
