CM Punk, who famously walked out of WWE after the 2014 Royal Rumble and vowed never to return, surprised fans by making a comeback at the 2023 Survivor Series Premium Live Event. Things are clearly different now for Punk, as the internal reaction to his current run in WWE has been revealed.

The Second City Saint ended up developing a very bad reputation due to his time in AEW, where he took part in the infamous Brawl Out incident at AEW All Out 2022 and the subsequent backstage scuffle with Jack Perry at All In 2023 that led to his termination.

When CM Punk returned to WWE, there was a lot of skepticism regarding his future in the company for good reason. However, CM Punk has essentially behaved as a model employee so far.

While speaking during Fightful Selects Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp addressed questions about a possible new contract for CM Punk, clarifying that his current deal is still less than a year old. He mentioned that discussions between Punk and WWE had occurred some time ago about a more expansive agreement, as the circumstances had changed since his return. According to Sapp, WWE has been very pleased with Punks run since his return, and things have been going smoothly.

It is to be noted that the Second City Saint is currently on hiatus from WWE television following his Hell in a Cell match with Drew McIntyre, but fans can expect him to return in time for Survivor Series, as WWE is planning a huge match between Punk and GUNTHER for the Premium Live Event. Therefore, CM Punks WWE run is going strong right now and thats all that matters to fans.
