Bryan Danielson lost the AEW World Title in shocking fashion at WrestleDream 2024, and Jon Moxley promptly smothered him with a plastic bag. Since then, Moxley has been on a path of destruction, with the Blackpool Combat Club by his side.
Jon Moxley is on a mission of vengeance and to change AEW from turning into whatever he didnt want it to be. As AEW World Champion, he now has everyones attention.
During an opening video package to start the show this week, Moxley said that someone has to be responsible when things get out of control, so he will be the responsible one. He proclaimed in that video that he hates what AEW has become, and he said the new paradigm is that you work for me now.
Jon Moxley advised that people step down while they can, and the caterpillar doesnt just get to become a butterfly, because those wings arent free, a caterpillar eats itself. It cannibalizes itself, and he suggested that the AEW roster do the same thing.
Then Jon Moxley promised to destroy someone a little bit tonight on AEW Dynamite, but its always for the greater good. This was a dramatic way to start the show this week, but he also sent quite a message.
