Another honor, another moment of glory, well deserved: Maria Sharapova will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony of the class is scheduled in Newport, Rhode Island, from August 21 to 23, 2025. Not just the Russian: twins Mike and Bob Bryan will also be inducted into the HOF.

Sharapova received a huge honor, but well-deserved, considering that she is one of only ten women in tennis history to have completed the Career Grand Slam in singles and was the first Russian to become number 1 WTA, The winner of 5 Grand Slam titles came into the spotlight for the first time in 2004, when, at 17, she won Wimbledon by defeating Serena Williams in the final. Her glorious career also includes triumphs at the 2006 US Open, the 2008 Australian Open, the 2012 and 2014 Roland Garros. She also came close to completing the Career Golden Slam, considering that she won an Olympic silver medal in 2012, in London. With Russia, she won the 2008 Billie Jean King Cup. Maria retired in 2020 due to physical problems that prevented her from expressing her best tennis. In her career she also had to face a suspension for testing positive for meldonium doping and a series of surgeries on her right shoulder. After her tennis career, Sharapova began her career as an entrepreneur and influencer, building a family with Alexander Gilkes, with whom she had her son Theo.

Mike and Bob Bryan have won sixteen Slams in doubles together and remain the most successful doubles team on the ATP Tour, considering that they led the ATP doubles ranking for 438 weeks! They have won all the Slams at least once, the Olympic gold in London in 2012 and the Davis Cup in 2007. Mike has won a total of 18 Majors, also considering two more with Jack Sock, while his twin brother Bob was injured. Today Bob Bryan is the captain of the USA Davis Cup national team.
