As WWE prepares for its January 2025 move of Monday Night RAW to Netflix, uncertainty remains over the shows runtime. While many expect RAW to return to its three-hour format, Dave Meltzer has provided new insights into the discussions taking place behind the scenes.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that the exact length of RAW episodes has not yet been finalized, with ongoing conversations between WWE and Netflix. The impression we were given more than a month ago on RAW was that they dont need to have a set time on Netflix, Meltzer noted. This suggests WWE could adopt a more flexible approach, adjusting episode lengths based on creative needs and storyline demands each week.

However, Meltzer added that this flexibility is still under discussion. While a three-hour standard remains a likely scenario, the lack of broadcast time constraints on Netflix provides WWE with the freedom to shorten or extend episodes as required.

Meltzer also highlighted similar uncertainties surrounding SmackDown, which will remain on USA Network. USA could use a third hour to help with the overall ratings of the station, Meltzer explained. With SmackDown set to become USA Networks only wrestling show in January, the network may push for an extended runtime to help maintain viewership.

The first RAW episode on Netflix, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, is designed to attract key Netflix executives and showcase the shows potential on the streaming platform.

As WWE and Netflix continue their discussions, fans remain curious about how this move will impact the shows format and whether the three-hour runtime will remain the new norm.

What do you think? Should WWE keep RAW episodes flexible, or would the return to a consistent three-hour format be better for storytelling? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
