The Tech Golf League (TGL) is an innovative indoor golf league created by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and sports media executive Mike McCarley through their company, TMRW Sports. TGL aims to combine technology with golf to attract a younger audience.
The league will feature six teams of four PGA Tour players competing in a fast-paced format on Monday and Tuesday nights. It introduces a "Modern Matchplay" concept that blends aspects of TopGolf, eSports, and traditional golf, which Woods calls the "next evolution within professional golf." However, this is not the only goal of TGL. We will only discover their goals in the future, and see what Woods, McIlroy, and their colleagues have to offer us.
Originally set to launch in January 2024, TGL was postponed for a year due to technical issues at the SoFi Center. The new launch date is January 7, 2025, in Palm Beach, Florida.
