Warriors star Steph Curry went to the locker room during the Warriors loss to the Clippers after sustaining an ankle injury.

It is no coincidence that Golden State were handed their first loss of the season after Curry left the court.

The 36-year-old tweaked his ankle twice in a matter of minutes, prompting a trip to the locker room both times.

The second time he did not return and had to be helped through the tunnel by Gary Payton II. He suffered a left ankle sprain, by all reports.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr told the media following his teams 112-104 loss to the Clippers that Curry will get a MRI tonight and described it as a mild and moderate injury.

Hes obviously sprained that ankle many times before, so he doesnt think its too bad. Obviously its a concern. Hell get an MRI tonight, Kerr said.

As for who will take over on offense if Curry misses games, Marc J. Spears of Andscape reported this:

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said well see when I asked who he would turn to offensively without Stephen Curry before turning to Andrew Wiggins as the potential option. Wiggins had 29 points in tonights loss to Clippers, he said on X.

Despite the setback, Curry totalled 18 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block in 27 minutes before coming from the court.

The Dubs were undefeated in preseason and to start the regular season before tonights loss, after wins against the Clippers, Kings x 2 and Lakers to kick off the 2024-25 NBA season.

Lets hope Steph isnt kept out for too long.
