In a perfect world, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla wants to see NBA players at each others throats.
Mazzulla hilariously said during a radio appearance on Bostons 98.5 The Sports Hub that his dream rule change to the league would be to bring back some fight.
I think the biggest thing that we rob people from as an entertainment standpoint is you cant fight anymore, Mazzulla said. I wish you could bring back fighting.
He added, I mean, you arent talking about robbing the league of entertainment. Whats more entertaining than when there is a little scuffle?
The NBA has been fairly fiesty to start the season. Hell, Donte DiVincenzo even had a scuffle during preseason with his former assistant coach at the Knicks.
With Dillon Brooks and Draymond Green in the league, theres always a chance that some scuffles will occur. No doubt this season will be any different.
Mazzulla wasnt done with his wishlist, since he also said hed like to see the league bring in some kind of a five-on-four advantage in certain situations.
Hey, I mean, basketball is one of the only sports that doesnt have a power play, he said.
I think soccer just put in the blue card where a Guy has to go off and its a 10 on 9. Like we should have a power play. Because lets say you have a technical or lets say you get a take foul, and you get the one shot, but youre not really rewarded for that because if you miss it, you dont get the reward for that take foul. So there should be like a power play where on a take foul or on a technical, you have to play five on four for five seconds or three passes.
