Cody Rhodes status as the Undisputed WWE Champion is truly something fans feel he deserves after putting in the work following his return at WrestleMania 38. He suffered a pec injury back in 2022, and it appears he could have returned earlier than planned.

Cody Rhodes has only had one serious injury in his career, which happened during Hell in a Cell 2022 when he tore his pectoral muscle. Despite the injury, he competed in a tough match against Seth Rollins but then had to sit out from wrestling for several months, returning at last years Royal Rumble.

While speaking on the Flagrant podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed he could have returned from his pec injury sooner than planned. While rehabbing, he knew he would be out for a significant time, having never faced an injury before. While he could have returned after four or five months, he decided to wait the full seven months until the Royal Rumble to come back in the best shape of his career.

The American Nightmare also plans on ending his full-time career when he is 45 years old. Nonetheless, Cody Rhodes has ensured he has won the respect of fans and peers alike for battling through his pec injury and winning the Hell in a Cell match and thats all that matters to him in the end.
