The Women's Super League is back in action this weekend with six exciting fixtures set to take place on Sunday November 3.
Here are 90min's top five talking points ahead of Gameweek 6...
Struggling sides search to make the winners list
Three clubs are still waiting for their first win of the WSL season and will all be hungry for victory in gameweek six.
Injury-ridden Everton are still licking their wounds after a tough month in the physio room, after both Aurora Galli and Inma Gabarro suffered anterior cruciate ligament injuries earlier in the season. The Toffees will not have a moment to breathe as they continue their search for a first win against league giants Chelsea this weekend at Goodison Park.
West Ham United put on gritty display despite defeat against Arsenal before the international break, and will now shift their attention towards the other side of north London as they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road. Spurs have had an undesirable run of games over recent times, and Rehanne Skinner will be eager to reap the benefits of their leaky defence come Sunday.
Robert de Pauw is still in search of his first victory in the WSL since taking over the head coach post at Aston Villa over the summer. Having already come up against two of last season's top four in Chelsea and Manchester City, Villa will now shift their attention toward a tough Liverpool side in desperate search of a win.
Can Spurs return to their feet?
A history making season for Tottenham Hotspur had all fans up on their feet as the new management of Robert Vilahamn guided Spurs to new heights in the 2023/24 season.
The start of the 2024/25 hasn't followed the same narrative, as Tottenham now return from the international break on a three-game losing streak in the WSL. A recent 5-2 thumping at the hands of Chelsea marked 11 goals conceded in just three games for the North London side.
Vilahamn's Lilywhites now have the perfect opportunity to bounce-back from a turbulent block, as they host a winless West Ham this Sunday at Brisbane Road. As Tottenham continue to build the new foundations of the Vilahamn philosophy, a win against the Irons will provide the perfect confidence boost heading into a difficult month.
Make or break test for the Gunners
Speaking of sides stuck in turbulence, Arsenal now gear up for an almighty test against Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village. After the confirmation that interim head coach Renee Slegers will remain in charge at least for the next five games, the Gunners prepare for a must-win meeting with the Red Devils.
Providing the assumption that Chelsea and Manchester City will triumph over Crystal Palace and Everton respectively, a loss in Manchester will put Arsenal eight points adrift from the league leaders at the top of the WSL standings. If the league is already out of sight, the Gunners will also have to worry about United pulling away from them in the race for 3rd place and Champions League qualification.
A statement opportunity for Marc Skinner in his 100th game
Man United boss Marc Skinner will manage his 100th game in charge this Sunday, as the Red Devils prepare to take on Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village.
The high-stakes fixture comes at the perfect time for Skinner if he is looking to make a statement, having not yet played any team that finished above 6th in last season's standings. Manchester United will be eager to capitalise on Arsenal's turmoil and secure a victory on home turf.
The head-to-head record between the two sides sits at equilibrium, with both sides having won four times, as well as two draws having been shared between them.
Bompastor's Blues seek to extend their dominant run
Chelsea have had a fairytale beginning under the new leadership of Sonia Bompastor, having won all six of their competitive fixtures so far. The Blues will be eager to extend that dominance this weekend, as they travel to Merseyside to face Everton.
Bompastor's Blues have flexed their muscles on the scoresheet, having scored 21 goals in six fixtures. As for Brian Sorensen's Everton side, despite being the victim of a 4-0 rout against Brighton on the opening weekend, the Toffees have conceded just three goals in four WSL games.
If Everton are to remain compact and disciplined at the back, Chelsea will have to be at their very best in order to extend their victorious run in the WSL so far.
