WWE Crown Jewel went down at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The night included a couple grudge matches, but all eyes were on the two Crown Jewel Championship matches.
At Bad Blood 2024, Triple H announced that at Crown Jewel, the reigning mens and womens world champions of Raw and SmackDown would compete against each other in non-title matches. The winners would be crowned the Crown Jewel Champion and Womens Crown Jewel Champion, marking the beginning of an annual tradition for Crown Jewel. Liv Morgan and Nia Jax retained their respective titles at Bad Blood, securing their spots in the Womens Crown Jewel Championship match.
This match received a big match introduction from Mike Rome, who announced the entire event. The Saudi Arabian fans booed Nia Jax, but they gave Liv Morgan a big cheer upon her introduction.
It should be noted that Liv and Nia went to the ring by themsleves, and they didnt have anyone at ringside with them. Fans chanted for Morgan as she ate a Samoan Drop for a two-count. They continued and Jax later hit a Samoan Drop off the second rope for another two count.
They continued and made their way to the top rope again, but Liv Morgan turned that one around into a sunset flip powerbomb. Suddenly, Tiffany Stratton ran down to the ring with her Money in the Bank briefcase. She then went to cash in, but Nia Jax stopped her. Tiffy backed off and Jax told her to leave, so she did.
Stratton re-thought her cash-in as fans chanted for her to seize the opportunity. Jax slammed Morgan in the ring and then Raquel Rodriguez jumped up to stop Tiffy from cashing in. Suddenly, Nia Jax ate a Code Breaker from Morgan.
Raquel backed Tiffany into the barricade and Morgan joined them to talk some smack. Then Nia Jax nailed Morgan and got her back in the ring. She hit a legdrop on her, but the referee was distracted by Dominik as Raquel nailed Nia Jax and then Morgan hit her finisher to get the pinfall.
Liv Morgan celebrated as the first-ever WWE Crown Jewel Champion, but Tiffany Stratton is still Miss Money in the Bank. She never cashed in her contract, but Nia Jax cant be happy about this. Then Triple H got in the ring to present Morgan with her Crown Jewel Championship as she made history, and got a bunch of fireworks, in Saudi Arabia.
