Releases are simply a part of life for a professional wrestler and WWE is no exception, as multiple releases have been taking place over the past several years. Recently, some unexpected names were released as part of the latest cuts and now the possibility of WWE releasing more talent has been revealed.
It was reportedthatBaron Corbin,Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox have departed from WWE. Regarding Corbin, WWE simply chose not to renew hiscontract and he will be a free agent once his current contract expires and all of these releases came as a shock to fans for good reason.
While speaking on Fightful Selects Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether fans should expect more releases. He explained that anyone saying more releases will happen in certain months, like spring or fall, is just guessing. Since 2020, many wrestlers have been released, and there has never been any clear sign of another round of cuts coming from the company.
Sapp pointed out that this kind of information usually doesnt get leaked. He gave examples like Indi Hartwell, who was used on TV just a week before her release, and Baron Corbin, who was part of a Netflix commercial shoot only six days before he was let go.
Fans shouldnt expect more wrestler releases right away, but that doesnt mean it wont happen eventually. WWE sometimes lets talent go as part of their regular process, so there may still be more cuts down the line.
