NXT took over the 2300 Arena for its November 6 episode, paying tribute to the ECW Arenas wrestling history. To honor this venues legacy, NXT brought in extreme wrestling names, including Dawn Marie.
Ava announced that Dawn Marie would serve as the special guest referee for the hardcore match between Lola Vice and Jaida Parker. This news caught fans attention, as Dawn Marie hasnt appeared on WWE television in years. Obviously, Marie was very excited about the opportunity.
The match kicked off NXT this week, as Dawn Marie received a great ovation from fans in the 2300 Arena. The contestants in the match got started in a hurry as soon as they hit the ring as well.
This match marked the first-ever womens hardcore match in NXT, and it happened in a very appropriate place. Both women set up ladders at the corners as they came back from commercial break, while Dawn Marie called the shots in the ring as the official. Parker nailed a spinebuster and talked some trash before she got another weapon.
Then Parker placed Vice on a table that was wedged in the corner, and she climbed a ladder next to the corner to land a drop through the ladder. The crowd was censored as they chanted, and Dawn Marie counted to two, but it wasnt enough to put Lola Vice down for the match.
Vice latched on a sleeper hold onto Parker, and they rolled out of the ring. Dawn Marie followed them, and the action soon returned to the inside. Vice put a trash can on Parker and then delivered a few stiff kicks before changing her attention to a kendo stick.
These two continued and the weapons shots didnt stop. If anything, things picked up as they went on, which included Parker sending Vice into the ladder in the corner with a hip attack.
Vice got on a chokehold and as Parker was fading, she grabbed a brick and broke it across Lolas face for a two count. Then Jadia Parker nailed a move to bulldoze over Lola Vice for the clean pinfall. This was quite a way to kick off such a historic episode.
