Kendrick Perkins was reportedly banned from the Celtics ring ceremony and banner raising on opening night and he has hit back at these claims.
This follows on from NBC Boston TV analyst Brian Scalabrines comments in June, where he said that Perkins and the Celtics dont have an open-arms thing anymore.
The 2008 Celtics champ was asked about all of it on All the Smoke this week and had some words for Scalabrine
Perkins didnt mince words with his response, while also landing another shot against Scalabrine after calling him a coward in June.
To be quite honest, I dont give a f**k. I dont give a f**k, Perkins said. I dont give a f**k because heres the thing, I never take winning the championship for granted. But they act like you have to be tied to that situation or thats your life.
It was an honor to play for one of the most historical franchises. I never take that for granted. I think what ended up happening was well, I know I said a take about Joe Mazzulla. They win the championship, and Brian Scalabrine, f**k Scal, hes like, Well, doors not just open for him to come back to the Celtic organization.
Perkins continued to take aim at the Boston analyst, saying he tried to inflate his role at the Cs title run in 2008.
Now, its two things I took from that. One, Scal, who the f**k are you? Yous the same motherf**ker that when we won a championship, was in street clothes, hurry up and went changed into your jersey so once we started taking pictures, you could know that you was a part of the team. And I actually like Scal, but I thought there should have been a phone conversation, right?
The ex-Celtic also explained how that head coach Joe Mazzulla contacted him about coming to team events.
Start of this season, I actually get an email from Joe Mazzulla saying, Whenever youre free if youre in Boston or we play the Rockets, I wanna go to dinner and break bread, Perkins said.
