Vince McMahon was hit with serious allegations of sexual traffickingand misconduct from former WWE employee Janel Grant and this led to Vince McMahon resigningfrom WWE and TKO Holdings. Interestingly enough, Mark Shapiro has now revealed McMahons feelings about WWEs current direction after recently meeting him.
Following his exit, Vince McMahon would sell several of his TKO stocks. While speaking in an interview with CNBC Sports, TKO COO Mark Shapiro talked about Vince McMahons current role in WWE. He explained that McMahon is no longer involved in the companys daily decisions.
Shapiro mentioned that he had breakfast with McMahon a few weeks ago to check in, and it was their first meeting in a long time. He said McMahon was very professional and friendly, but he is no longer part of the business. McMahon doesnt make decisions, isnt on the board, and isnt consulted by WWE. Shapiro also mentioned that McMahon is dealing with some legal issues and wants privacy while working through them.
Shapiro reassured that TKO and WWE will keep growing and expanding. McMahon still owns shares in the company, but not as many as he did before. When asked if McMahon supports WWEs direction, Shapiro said McMahon is positive about it, though he wasnt specifically asking for his opinion.
It was previously reported thatVince McMahon is working on creating a new entertainment companythat will focus on film and television projects and thats what he is focused on at the moment. Regardless, McMahon will never have anything to do with WWE and thats unlikely to change anytime soon.
