The two round robins of the Nitto ATP Finals 2024 - which will be played in Turin (northern Italy) - have finally been drawn. Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev are the three favorites for the final victory of the tournament.

The main news is that the Spaniard and the Italian will not clash in the group stage. In fact, fate has decided that Jannik will be in the group of the Russian Daniil Medvedev while the Spaniard will be with the German winner of the Paris Rolex Masters. The challenge between the two young talents is postponed to the semifinals or final, if of course they manage to pass their round robin. It must be said that Medvedev and Zverev have already won the year-end Master at least once. The German triumphed in 2018 and 2021, the Russian in 2020: both will try to make this type of experience count to surprise the main favorites and reach the final act of the event.
But who is the favorite for the final victory? All things considered, I think that Jannik Sinner could be the favorite, especially because the surface is the one where the young Italian expresses his best tennis while - at the same time - indoor hard-court is the surface on which Alcaraz is less at ease. If the Spaniard found confidence with the surface, I would say that he would be the natural favorite for the final victory, especially because, in general terms, Carlitos is stronger than Jannik. But as of today, the Italian is superior on indoor hard-courts.
Due to its characteristics, this surface suits Alexander Zverev well. The German can beat anyone, as demonstrated by the two titles won at the ATP Finals and the victory at the Paris Rolex Masters in similar playing conditions, make the German think of himself as one of the candidates for the final victory. From what we have seen this season, it will be difficult for everyone else: Medvedev should not be underestimated, but the Russian starts behind Sinner, Zverev and Alcaraz, at the moment. It will be tougher for Casper Ruud, on a surface that does not match his tennis. Taylor Fritz, Alex De Minaur and Andrey Rublev are the outsiders: the recent history of the ATP Finals says that it is often the outsider who triumphs at the year-end Masters.
