The inevitable has happened, with the Lakers sending LeBrons son Bronny to the G League affiliate South Bay.

Shams is reporting that hes set to debut for the team as early as Saturday against Salt Lake City.

James will be on the Lakers roster for Fridays game against the Philadelphia 76ers, then will rejoin South Bay, according to sources, Charania said.

The organizations current plan is for James to play in only G League home games as he shuttles between the Lakers and South Bay, sources said.

Head coach JJ Redick explained last month that the plan was always to have Bronny go back-and-forth between the NBA and G League teams.

The plan for Bronny to move between the Lakers roster and the South Bay roster, thats always been the plan since day one, Lakers coach JJ Redick said earlier this season. (General manager) Rob (Pelinka) and I have talked about that. LeBrons talked about that.

Bronny was the second round, overall 55th pick in the draft. He has gotten minutes in four NBA games with the purple and gold so far, totalling four points, two assists, one rebound and has made 1-6 field goal attempts.

Bronny took the court with his dad in the Lakers first game of the season and played three minutes together becoming the first father-son duo to play in the NBA together. However, they havent appeared in a game together since.

The Lakers had a promising start to the season 3-0, but since then have dropped four of their last five games.

Its not from a lack of trying on LeBrons part though, who scored a season-high 39 points against the Grizzlies on Wednesday and had a number of heated exchanges with Ja Morant.

You would never know hes about to turn 40 in a months time.
