Brutus Beefcake is truly a legend in the world of professional wrestling as he has accomplished a lot during his career. As is the case with any pro wrestler, he didnt get along with a few big names in the business and that includes Hulk Hogan. In fact, Beefcake recently made a bold claim about Hogans career.
While speaking to Inside the Ropes, Brutus Beefcake was asked why he never made his way back to WWE alongside Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and the others after WCW was sold to WWE. Beefcake said he wasnt sure why Hogan didnt want him there, but it seemed like Hogan didnt try to help him. Even though Hogan had Vince McMahons ear, he never spoke up for Beefcake, and he didnt do anything to support him. Whatever Hogan suggested, thats what WWE went with, but Beefcake felt left out.
When asked if being with Hogan over the years helped him, Beefcake explained that in the beginning, he was the one who helped launch Hogans career. He was the one driving, training, working out, and taking care of everything for Hogan so he could stay at the top. Beefcake thought if he hadnt been there, Hogans career might not have taken off as it did. He was always there for him, month after month, year after year.
Beefcake also said that his wife told him he was underestimating his role in helping Hogan. She pointed out that it wasnt Hogan helping him, but him helping Hogan. After thinking about it, Beefcake realized his wife was right, and he had a bigger role in Hogans success than he first realized.
Hulk Hogan is obviously one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling but Brutus Beefcake simply feels people dont value his own involvement in making Hogan the star that he was. Regardless, its unlikely Beefcake and Hogan will be on great terms anytime soon.
