WWE fans were shocked to see Cameron Grimes WWE release. He had a lot of potential, but never quite caught on when it came to the main roster. Now, looking back, he has a lot of memories to share.
Since his WWE release, Cameron Grimes is going as Trevor Lee once again. He has yet to really break into the pro wrestling scene since his release, but fans are still waiting to see what he does next.
Trevor Lee recently shared memories of working with LA Knight, his former Impact Wrestling colleague and current WWE United States Champion. During an interview on Instinct Culture, Lee reflected on his initial interactions in Impact Wrestling with LA Knight. Lee also recalled that he and Knight, then known as Eli Drake, didnt hit it off right away.
LA Knight and Trevor Lees reunion in WWE allowed them to work together on a memorable storyline involving Ted DiBiases Million Dollar Belt, with DiBiase playing an active role in the feud. This was a dream for both of them, as Lee and Knight loved the Million Dollar Championship back in the day.
It was very cool that he then came to NXT and now we had crossed paths again, Trevor Lee said. This storyline was instrumental in developing Knights megastar persona, which has become central to his current character.
The feud over the Million Dollar Belt not only showcased Lee and Knights chemistry in the ring but also helped launch Knights WWE career to another level. Obviously, he is still doing great as U.S. Champion. We will have to see if Trevor Lee ever finds his way back to WWE, but the story may write itself for another program with LA Knight.
