Daniil's numbers behind the victory over Alex

The Russian delivered two breaks in the opening set and clinched the final three games of the second set to move over the top in style. Medvedev presented one of his strongest serving performances of the season, dropping nine points in nine service games and facing no break points. De Minaur felt the pressure and cracked under it, struggling behind the first serve and dropping 40% of the points in his games. He played against four break points and suffered three breaks.

Thus, a debutant experienced the second loss of the event and yielded chances of qualifying for the semi-final. Daniil landed 24 winners and 18 unforced errors, taming his strokes nicely and leaving his opponent on a 10-15 ratio. Alex hit a couple of service winners more than his opponent but struggled from the baseline big time, claiming half of Daniil's points! They stayed neck and neck in the shortest range up to four strokes. Medvedev took charge in the more advanced exchanges, outplaying his opponent and sailing over the finish line.
