On the first day of the year-end Master, in fact, the 4-time Slam champion lost against the Norwegian also due to poor physical conditions.
"A few days before coming here, I got sick. During training I didn't feel very well but enough to play. Obviously the matches are completely different. Today I didn't feel well, this morning I had stomach problems. In the long rallies I didn't feel well at all," explained the young Spaniard.
Carlitos canceled yesterday's training while this morning he managed to practice showing some slight improvement. There are good feelings and, barring any unexpected events, Alcaraz should play in a few hours against Rublev. He probably won't be in the best conditions, considering that today he stopped on a few occasions and seemed to have a cold but he wants to try to play for the qualification for the semifinals.

Yesterday Alcaraz rested in preparation for today's match against the Russian, which is already decisive for the fate of the group.
His coach Juan Carlos Ferrero gave important updates on the physical condition of the young Spaniard yesterday, explaining: "He is struggling to breathe. We cannot say now whether he will play tomorrow or not. We have all played in these conditions, but it is very difficult that he will be at 100%."
