MVP is ready to close out his wrestling career on his own terms and with style.
Speaking on Drop The Heat, the veteran shared his excitement about his current run in AEW and his desire to tie up loose ends from his storied career. The October 30 episode of AEW Dynamite marked a monumental moment for MVP as Bobby Lashley made his surprise AEW debut, reuniting with MVP and Shelton Benjamin to form The Hurt Syndicate. The powerhouse group has quickly become a force to reckon with, and Lashleys upcoming in-ring debut against Swerve Strickland at Full Gear is set to continue their momentum.
MVP, reflecting on this new chapter, expressed that hes determined to give his career the ending it deserves. Well, the next chapter currently is AEW. Got the boys back together, the Hurt Syndicate. I want to end that chapter the way it should have been ended, so we got plans to do some really good business in AEW, he said.
Despite enjoying his role as a manager and on-screen authority, MVP admitted he isnt done competing just yet. I got a few matches left in me, Id like to have one, well, a few matches before I hang it up for good because Im not officially retired yet, he shared. I want to have my final retirement match. After that, well see man. Im enjoying this role as a manager, a mouthpiece, doing commissioner work. If somebody wants to keep paying me to come around and put a microphone to my mouth, Ill do it for as long as they want me to do it.
For MVP, the focus is on enjoying these last moments with friends and colleagues while making the most of his time in the industry. Otherwise, as far as wrestling, that chapter is coming to a close pretty soon. Right now, I just want to have a good time making money with my friends, he said.
