Kenny Omega has beenon the shelf for almost a year after undergoingemergency surgery for diverticulitis and fans wondered when he would finally be able to compete inside the squared circle again. While he has yet to compete in a ring, Omega has made it clear he wants to end his wrestling career like Sting.
Sting and Darby Allin had an incredible match against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution, where they would beat The Young Bucks and retain the AEW Tag Team Titles, as Sting would retire undefeated. Many fans felt Sting got one of the best sendoffs in pro wrestling history as well.
While speaking to Fightful, Kenny Omega talked about the future of his in-ring career. Sean Ross Sapp asked him whether he wanted to have the same kind of sendoff that Sting did and end his career.
Kenny Omega admitted that it would be nice if he got to end his career the way Sting did. Reflecting on Stings retirement and even Bryan Danielsons, he acknowledged that while Bryan had to go out with a loss and a dramatic storyline twist, his final performance was incredible and truly inspirational.
Omega admired the idea of wrestling at the highest level on AEWs current roster and delivering such a memorable performance as a last match. He thought that if Bryans match indeed was his final one, it would be an ideal way to go out. In that sense, Omega admitted he might feel a bit envious of Bryans farewell, even though it ended in a loss and came under less-than-ideal circumstances.
Kenny Omega made it clear he wants to compete at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty event on January 5th, so thats currently his focus at the moment. Therefore, we will have to wait and see when The Best Bout Machine will hang up his pro wrestling boots and if he will have a sendoff similar to Sting, as fans would love to see that happen.
