AEW has a lot of plans in the pipeline, and that includes their weekly television shows. That being said, there is a lot that they need to consider when making those decisions. Now, we have a better idea why the company is pre-taping Collision on Thursdays.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW plans to continue taping Collision on Thursdays. These episodes will not air live, and spoilers will be available ahead of their broadcast. That being said, the company had a good reason for making this change. It also may explain why AEW cancelled their December 7 Columbus, Ohio taping.
It was noted that taping on Thursdays benefits talent who are already on the road for Dynamite on Wednesdays. Staying an additional day to tape Collision is more convenient than returning home on Thursday and traveling again later in the week.
The new schedule has reportedly been well-received backstage. Talent appreciate the reduced travel demands and the ability to complete two shows in a single trip.
AEWs approach to balance certain logistical challenges while keeping their roster in mind is a delicate dance. While the shows taped format may raise concerns about spoilers, it provides significant benefits for talent scheduling.
AEWs plans for Collision will likely continue to evolve, but for now, this strategy appears to meet the needs of both the company and its roster. Keep checking back with us here at Ringside News for all the news and updates you need as we continue monitoring this ongoing story.
