WWE is shaking up the pro wrestling world with the WWE ID program. This initiative is designed to help independent wrestlers prepare for a potential WWE career while supporting them along the way. Weve seen a few names announced for the program so far, and MJF even took a shot at it. This program comes out of Triple Hs vision, and its something hes apparently been working on for a while.
Black & Brave Academy, a pro wrestling school operated by Seth Rollins and Marek Brave, is part of the WWE Independent Development program. Rollins and Brave opened the school shortly after Rollins debuted in WWE as part of The Shield.
WWE ID creates a pathway for independent wrestlers to pursue careers in WWE. While speaking to Derrick T. Lewis on The D-Lew Podcast, Marek Brave shared insights into the program.
The WWE ID program helps funnel top indie talent into WWEs developmental system. It provides opportunities and guidance for wrestlers aiming to reach the next level, including NXT. Wrestlers from various independent promotions have already been scouted for the first wave of WWE ID recruits. The program is a way for WWE to bring top indie talent into their developmental system while offering guidance and resources for those striving to reach NXT.
WWE has partnered with other wrestling schools like Reality of Wrestling, the Nightmare Factory, Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center, and KnokX Pro Academy as part of the program. Only time will tell which company and camp joins the list next.
It remains to be seen which WWE ID recruit will make an impact first, but this program clearly reflects Triple Hs vision. Independent wrestling has no shortage of talent, but WWEs resources and the Performance Center only have so much space.
