Bayley knows a thing or two about conquering the WWE Womens Royal Rumble. The superstars triumphant 2024 victory led her straight to WrestleMania 40 for an epic showdown with IYO Sky. So, how does The Role Model prep for one of the most grueling matches of the year? Spoiler: Its not just about hitting the gym.
In a recent chat with Vegas Film Critic, Bayley spilled on her approach to Rumble prep, emphasizing that the real work happens above the shoulders. Yeah, its honestly, Ive learned throughout the years, that its more mental for me, Bayley admitted. We train all year long. We dont have any off seasons or anything, so were always in tip-top shape. But for the Rumble, you know, you kind of every year Ive seen, I just want to be in there longer. Like, I want to get in there sooner and I want to be in there longer, and I want to eliminate more women every year.
Bayleys strategy? Steady growth and relentless ambition. Thats how I look at it. Just trying to get better every single year. You know, my first year I was, say, number 27, and I only eliminated one person. But as the years went on, I got in earlier, so I was in there a little bit longer, eliminated more girls every single year until finally, you know, you win the big one, she continued.
She highlighted the unpredictability of the match, saying, It is a very different mental preparation than just a normal match because you could either be in there for 30 seconds, 30 minutes, or an hour. You never know.
Bayleys winning mindset has paid off, and shes not slowing down. On this weeks SmackDown, she proved her dominance once again by winning a triple threat match to advance in the inaugural womens U.S. title tournament. This victory is just another testament to why Bayley remains a fan favorite and a force to be reckoned with in the WWE.
