Looks like some wires got crossed in the wrestling world! WWE backstage interviewer and NHL broadcaster Jackie Redmond recently found herself at the center of some unexpected buzz.
Reports emerged suggesting that Redmond was eyeing an in-ring debut, fueled by comments she made in an interview with Gabby AF. But Redmond herself has now stepped in to set the record straight.
The original report made waves when it claimed that Redmond, inspired by Pat McAfees successful jump from NFL star to WWE competitor, hinted she might be open to stepping into the ring. Fans were excited to think that Redmond, known for her charisma and NHL background, might lace up some boots and make the transition. The idea even had a storyline twist, as Redmond mentioned CM Punk could be key to training her, with Otis and Jey Uso also in the mix as possible coaches. However, the story quickly took a turn when Redmond took to Twitter to clear up the misunderstanding.
Thats not at all what I said!? lol, she posted, addressing the report via Ringside News. I said if anyone can get a HOCKEY PLAYER in the ring it would be CM Punk. I have absolutely zero desire to wrestle .
Turns out, Redmonds comments were more about seeing a fellow hockey personality make the leap into wrestling rather than her own aspirations to step into the squared circle. She emphasized that while CM Punk, Otis, and Jey Uso might be great trainers for someone with a hockey background, she isnt personally looking to trade in her mic for a pair of wrestling boots anytime soon.
Ringside News wants to clear the air and say sorry for the mix-up on this one. We pride ourselves on bringing you the real scoop, but sometimes things get a little twisted, and thats on us.
