Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA wrestling champion Gable Steveson will return to the University of Minnesota wrestling team for a fifth season. This was not a hard decision for him to make, and he seems happy to be back.
Gable Steveson will use an NCAA waiver for extra eligibility due to an Olympic redshirt and a COVID-19 extension. Steveson has an 85-2 collegiate record and a 52-match winning streak. He is one of the universitys most successful athletes, so his return was met with a lot of fanfare.
Gable Steveson was asked why he made a decision to return as a Golden Gopher. The Olympian said that the decision was an easy one, and he went on to expand on that statement.
Gable Steveson was released from WWE, and his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills didnt go anywhere. He was clear about the fact that he had never played football before, but he also didnt close the door on another try on the gridiron or WWE down the line.
Now, Steveson has returned to the University of Minnesota, which has to make them very happy. This is evident by the fact that it seems that Steveson was welcomed back with open arms.
We will have to see what Gable Steveson is able to do next. He will be wrestling for a fifth year at the University of Minnesota, but he cant stay in college forever. If anything, he will certainly garner attention wherever he lands next.
