Kofi Kingston is giving fans the inside scoop on how The New Day has kept their storyline rolling despite unexpected changes.
Speaking with the New York Post, Kingston addressed the sudden removal of Odyssey Jones from their storyline with Xavier Woods. The shift left Kingston and Woods to navigate how to keep things moving forward, a challenge the WWE star says is just part of the business.
Odyssey Jones, who had briefly been part of The New Day saga and even sparked tension with Woods due to Kofis open-armed approach, was suddenly taken off TV and hasnt been mentioned since. Despite the shake-up, Kingston and Woods have managed to keep their storyline engaging and relevant.
Fans have even more to look forward to as a special Monday Night Raw episode celebrating The New Days 10-year anniversary is on the horizon. Kingston emphasized that the event wouldnt feel right without Big E, who has been an integral part of the groups success.
I dont think that we can have a New Day celebration without Big E there. It wouldnt feel right. It wouldnt taste right, you know? Kingston said.
Hes hopeful Big Es schedule will allow him to participate, noting, He had so much to do with the foundations of The New Day and what people think of when they think of The New Day.
Kingstons excitement about a potential Big E appearance is palpable. Theres still people to this day that when they see us, you know, like, hey, New Day. They put their hand on their head. They put their hand on their hip as they twirl their hips, just like he did, he said.
Meanwhile, things got heated on the November 18 episode of Raw when Kingston and Woods clashed while Kofi was speaking with Alpha Academys Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa. Woods called Otis and Tozawa out for a tag match, setting up even more drama for the next episode.
