Rey Mysterio has cracked the code behind Dominik Mysterios massive heel heat in WWEand its not what youd expect. The WWE Hall of Famer recently joked that his sons mustache, not their ongoing family drama, is the real reason fans love to hate him.
Speaking on Rosenberg Wrestling, Rey reflected on how his own beloved babyface status might have initially triggered the audiences disdain for Dominik. However, he claimed the real villain in this story isnt the betrayalits the facial hair.
I think it was definitely a triggering point at a certain part of his career or his turn, but then after that, I think now its mainly based on the Mustache, Rey said. He didnt stop there, adding, I mean, I hate it. I dont know about you. [Its] gotta be the Mustache. Not so much the hatred that he has on his fatherits the Mustache, yeah.
