Jason Day is motivated to do well at the Australian PGA Championship. He's certainly one of the most prominent names on this Tour, but can this great golfer make a breakthrough and record a positive result? His greatest competition will definitely be Cameron Smith, who's been playing great golf for some time now. Jason Day shot a second-round 69, while Cameron Smith was great with a 65.

In a media interview, Jason Day pointed out that he was not satisfied with his performance, considering that he didn't give himself enough chances. His wishes are to raise the level and see off Smith, who's doing magical things at the moment. Only such things are expected from him.
I just didnt give myself enough opportunities, at least close enough opportunities, Day said, as quoted by Yahoo.
Ive just got to work on a few things and then get in (on Sunday), see how the conditions are and try to plan my way around, but right now Im looking at Cammy Smith, whos playing some pretty phenomenal golf.
The 37-year-old decided to joke, referring to the fact that Smith is playing at LIV Golf, considering that the tournament favors Smith considering that the tournament is reduced to 54 holes. Day points out that Cameron is used to playing 54 holes. In the continuation, the Australian admitted that everything turned into an interesting race, not wanting to allow him to get too far from the top of the order.

An experienced golfer wants to work on his game, opening himself up to a good result on Sunday. The Australian had a busy season behind, full of ups and downs, so he admits he needs a break. Jason decided to modify some aspects of his game; primarily swing, as he wants to see how he will perform under pressure. Swing isn't the only thing that Day wants to work on, considering that putting will also be important. Thig great golfer wants to achieve a positive result.
Jason Day isn't the only individual who has a certain amount of fear of Smith, considering that Marc Leishman knows the quality of Smith best, having played together at LIV Golf, on the same team. Leishman pointed out that he knows what this tournament brings with him, aware of the qualities Cameron has. Leishman hopes to play a great tournament together with Smith. LIV Golfer pointed out that he'll eventually take revenge on Smith by playing at the Australian Open in Melbourne next week.
"We've had a few goes around here," Leishman said.

They (the crowd) love Cam and hopefully we can both play well and next week I can give a bit of it back to him in Melbourne (at the Australian Open)."

"(The sun) always puts a smile on your face and the golf was pretty good too. I started solid and kept it going."
Smylie reflected on the great tournament, noting that he now understands some things about Smith. Smylie had nothing but praise for the 31-year-old golfer, who he believes has done great things for Australian golf. Smylie wants to be as successful as Cameron, wanting to have a great career.
"I learned what life is like being one of the best golfers in the world and what he goes through on a day-to-day basis," said Smylie.
"What he's done for Australian golf... he's been a great role model of mine for a very long time."
The young golfer revealed that the two have had a chance to talk, but he's aware of how much Cameron wants to beat him, just like the other way around. Smylie is highly motivated to spoil the plans of LIV Golfer, who was the early favorite to win this tournament. Cameron is looking forward to tomorrow, hoping to win the home event. Whether the 31-year-old will succeed in that, we'll get an answer tomorrow.
