AEW gave fans plenty of reasons to watch Full Gear 2024. The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey played host to the second Full Gear pay-per-view, after they held the same event in 2022, but this time Ricochet was on the card. The One And Only went after the International Championship, but Konosuke Takeshita retained his title in the third defense of his title reign.
After a high-intensity match that included many big spots and signature moves, they finally rounded the corner toward the finish. The match ended after Takeshita caught Ricochet on the top rope and landed a devastating move. There were a ton of near falls throughout the match, where Ricochet nearly won the match, but in the end, Takeshita retained.
Don Callis was on commentary during this match, and he was ready to put his stable over once again. Takeshita had the second match featuring a stable member take center stage at AEW Full Gear 2024 after Kyle Fletcher. Then he got off the commentary table to manage at ringside as F*ck Don Callis chants rang out in New Jersey.
WWE fans were shocked to see Ricochet leave WWE after he was written off television thanks to a backstage assault from Bron Breakker. It didnt take long for the One And Only to make his debut for Tony Khans company, and he got right in the mix.
Konosuke Takeshita won the International Title in shocking fashion at WrestleDream 2024 as he took the win over Ricochet and Will Ospreay. Since Ospreay was busy with Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear 2024, in a match that Ospreay lost, the company set the stage for Ricochet getting a shot at that title against Takeshita instead.
