WWE is bringing a mid-card championship to the Raw brand.
Much like the SmackDown brand, WWE wants to give more opportunities to the womens division. A few weeks ago, SmackDown introduced a Womens United States Championship. Currently they are still in the first round with Bayley and Chelsea Green who have advanced so far to the semi-finals.
Now, the Raw womens division will have their own Womens Intercontinental Championship.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that WWE is already in the planning stages to introduce a WWE Womens Intercontinental Championship title on Monday Night Raw when it shifts over to Netflix. The report added that the expectation internally is that the new title wont get rolled out until the new Womens US Title is crowned and established.
The Womens United States Championship will be crowned on Saturday Nights Main Event on Dec. 14.
