WWE has surprised tons of fans with their booking for NXT, and many thought that Oba Femi may win back the NXT North American Title at Halloween Havoc, but that wasnt in the cards. He hasnt been around for a bit since then, either.
Tony DAngelo beat Oba Femi at Halloween Havoc 2024 to retain the NXT North American Championship. Since then, DAngelo has carried on, even with a title match against Shawn Spears this week on the November 26 episode of NXT. That being said, Oba isnt around.
Sean Ross Sapp wrote a bit about Oba Femis current whereabouts on Fightful Select. It was noted that there is no word about him being around backstage in NXT since his last loss.
Oba Femi carried the NXT North American Championship in impression fashion for a while. His loss to Tony DAngelo on October 8 in Saint Louis was an unexpected moment. Now, he is apparently taking a bit of a break.
WWE is giving their talent a lot more time off than usual. It is always possible that Oba Femi is getting a few weeks off for the holidays. Only time will tell what happens with him, but its hard to imagine that his time in WWE is over by a long shot.
NXT has been known to take talent away from television around this time of the year if they intend on making a Royal Rumble debut.
