NBA legend Charles Barkley is the latest to criticize the NBAs handling of LeBron James son Bronny James.
The Lakers have decided to let Bronny play for the South Bay Lakers the teams G-League affiliate for home games and then name him in the Lakers squad when the development team is on the road.
Barkley labelled the decision awful when talking about Bronnys development and whats best for him.
The kid is not ready to play in the NBA. He should be in the G-League so he can play basketball, Barkley said during an appearance on The Bettor Angle recently.
And also, this thing where hes only gonna play homes games. Its stupid, its not fair to him. Its not fair to the team. Can you imagine the coach of that team? You come off a road trip and you have a player you havent seen in a week or two. And then you probably feel like you gotta play him, he continued. I dont think they are doing Bronny any favors. They have just handled this thing very bad. Its a bad look for the Lakers. I really like everything LeBron has done. But its a bad look for him [too], in my opinion.
Despite this interesting set up, Bronnys time in the NBA has been very limited. Hes participated in six games, where hes logged a total of 16 minutes, going 1-6 from the field, to go along with six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
No doubt the NBA world and its media personalities will continue to have varying opinions about the Bronny / LeBron situation.
There are even rumors about that LeBron will wait until his younger son Bryce gets drafted so he can play with both his sons in the NBA.
