In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns addressed the possibility of going toe-to-toe with his legendary cousin, leaving fans with renewed hope.
I think our fanbase and the companys proven that if our fans are loud enough and passionate enough about something, were a company whowere not being dictated to, Reigns said. We have a vision for where were trying to go, but we know who the consumers are. We know whos paying their hard-earned money, and we want to satisfy those people.
Reigns emphasized that The Rocks legacy within WWE makes him a key player in any potential match. And Dwaynes always going to be in that role. Thats why hes a part of the board and a part of everything the way he is, because were at an unprecedented time right now. Business is great, and we just want to continue to push things up, Reigns added. If thats what the people want and The Peoples Champ is down, Im sure we can make something happen.
WrestleMania 40 didnt feature the one-on-one bout, but fans did get a taste of the duo in action. Reigns and The Rock teamed up to battle Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1 of WrestleMania. On Night 2, Rhodes shocked the world by dethroning Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
While the Tribal Chiefs championship reign has ended, the idea of a family feud with The Great One is still alive. Reigns comments suggest the WWE Universe has the power to make it happenand both men seem open to it.
