Sean Ross Sapp provided an intriguing update during a Fightful Q&A, responding to a fans question about whether AEW plans to bring Danhausen back before his contract ends. Sapp revealed, There had been some contact between AEW and Danhausen in September, but Ive not heard of any creative plans. Ultimately, he works there. So if they tell him to come to work, he will. Hes never said or implied otherwise.
While this suggests Danhausen is open to returning if AEW calls on him, it aligns with earlier reports indicating little movement on bringing the fan-favorite back to TV. AEW previously thought Danhausen was prioritizing indie bookings over his availability for Collision tapings. However, sources close to the star have clarified that family obligations impacted his schedulea situation he had hoped to revisit with AEW management.
Earlier this year, Bryan Danielson advocated for Danhausens return, even pitching ideas to help reignite the quirky grapplers on-screen presence.
