Hubert Hurkacz has made his ambitions for 2025 clear, choosing a new super team, which will be composed of Ivan Lendl and Nicolas Massu.

The Polish player will thus aim for the definitive leap in quality among the best in the world. After the end of the historic collaboration with Craig Boynton, Hubi has in fact announced his two new coaches, who have successfully collaborated in the past for the triumphs of Andy Murray and Dominic Thiem.

Hurkacz's season changed during the Wimbledon Championships. The Polish player in fact suffered a serious knee injury during the tie-break of the fourth set of the 2nd round match against Arthur Fils. For him, the dive he made in an attempt to recover the ball was fatal, because, when he got up, an unnatural twist in his right knee immediately made the seriousness of the injury clear. The Pole tried to stay on the court for a few points, but had to throw in the towel due to the pain.

Hubert underwent surgery, revealing that he was inspired by Novak Djokovic - who underwent surgery for the injury he suffered at the French Open and then reached the final at the Wimbledon Championships - and he rushed to return to the court at the ATP Masters 1000 in Montreal.

"What he did was very inspiring, especially winning the gold medal. I also sent a message to Novak. He also supported me and helped me a lot and the situation was different, it was difficult to make a decision. In the end, I understood that I had to have surgery," explained the Pole.

Hurkacz should come back on the court for the upcoming 2025 Australian Swing.We will already be able to see the first effects of the Polish player's new collaboration with Lendl and Massu at the Australian Open, on a playing surface suited to Hubi.
