Stevie Richards had a memorable career in pro wrestling, working in promotions such as ECW, WWE and then TNA Wrestling. He had worked with Ric Flair during his time in TNA Wrestling and has now revealed the time Flair once disrespected him backstage.
While speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, Stevie Richards revealed a story about Ric Flair disrespecting him backstage during their time in TNA. While Richards praised Flairs wrestling skills, he admitted that Flairs behavior outside the ring could be difficult, describing him as someone who can be either very friendly or very disrespectful.
Richards recalled an incident at the DoubleTree hotel when he and AJ Styles returned from dinner. Flair was at the bar with Dixie Carter, Kazarian, Bobby Roode, and others. As Richards and Styles walked by, Flair loudly mocked Richards, calling him a jobber and telling Styles to leave him and hang out with the real stars.
Flair repeated the comments multiple times, and the bar including Dixie Carter laughed along. Richards said he felt humiliated and angry, calling it one of the most disrespectful moments of his career. Although AJ Styles tried to calm him down, Richards admitted he considered confronting Flair but decided against it.
The next day, Flair acted as if nothing had happened, greeting Richards politely. Richards went along with it but later regretted not standing up for himself.
Richards said he used the experience as motivation during their cage match at Bound for Glory. In the match, he mocked Flairs famous strut to annoy him. While Richards respects Flairs wrestling legacy, he pointed out that Flair has a reputation for disrespecting others and burning bridges, even with people like Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Tony Khan. Richard claimed that Flair often insults people when things dont go his way, but then acts as if nothing happened.
Stevie Richards was clearly bothered by Ric Flairs disrespect and fans understand why Richards felt this way. Regardless, many people might agree with what e had ot say about FLair and thats unlike to change.
